Mardi Himal Peak Climbing Overview
Mardi Himal Peak Climbing in Nepal can be a great experience for first-time trekkers and moderately skilled adventurers. Mardi Himal is one of the lesser-known peak but an increasingly popular destination of the Annapurna region.
Across the Himchul valley and with Modi Khola towards its west, sits the Mardi Himal Peak in Gandaki zone near the city of Lakes - Pokhara.
On your way towards the mountain, you would come across a col which separates Mardi Himal and Mount Fishtail. The Mardi Himal base camp is set up at 4,100 m and once you pass the col and ascend a bit more you would get to see the high camp.
The rest of the journey to the summit is a great one along with a 45-degree inclination. People usually couple this climb with other Annapurna trekking packages to enjoy more - i.e diverse landscape, meet vibrant people, explore various villages, enjoy local foods.

Mardi Himal is one of the short and easier climbing peaks of the Himalayas in comparison to other peaks. Previous climbing experience is not required for climbing this peak but one must be physically and mentally healthy and we highly suggest you engage in outdoor activities like hiking, jogging, cycling, swimming, etc. before the trek.
5. When is the best time to climb Mardi Himal?
The best time for Mardi Himal climbing is from Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). The weather is the clearest during these times of the year offering a majestic view of the peaks. Similarly, since Spring is pre-monsoon and Autumn is post-monsoon, there are the lowest chances of rainfall/snowfall which reduces any unforeseen contingencies.
6. How long does it take to climb Mardi Himal?
Mardi Himal climb is a one-day summit that can be done in 7-8 hours both ways depending on the travelers. However, the overall trip consists of 16 days.
7. Can I do solo Mardi Himal climbing? Do I need a guide for Mardi Himal climbing?
Solo climbing to Mardi Himal is not possible. And it is mandatory to have an authorized climbing guide in order to ensure the traveler's safety. Our guides are authorized professional climbing guides who are skilled and have a lot of knowledge and experience in this field.
8. Do I need travel insurance for Mardi Himal climbing?
It is mandatory to have travel insurance for Mardi Himal climbing. You could purchase insurance from a reliable insurance agency from your location/home country. While purchasing travel insurance one must choose the insurance that covers emergency and medical evacuation, trip cancellation/delay, medicinal treatment, injury, loss of baggage, liabilities, etc.
9. Is a climbing permit required for Mardi Himal Climbing? Is the permit included in the package?
A climbing permit is not required for the Mardi Himal climb however, TIMS and Annapurna Conservation Area permits are required. Similarly, all the permits and entrance fees are included in all the packages offered by Himalayan Trekkers including the Mardi Himal Climb.
