Accommodation

We, Himalayan Trekkers, make every attempt to provide our guests with the safest and most pleasant accommodations possible. In Kathmandu, we usually provide a Standard hotel( 3* Standard) with all of the amenities, However, we can customize the accommodations as per travelers' requirements, interests, and availability for an additional cost.

Lhasa has the widest selection of hotels, ranging from Budget to Luxury. Shigatse has fewer options, with 4-star hotels being the highest quality. In other parts of Tibet, lodging is a little more modest, consisting mostly of typical Budget to standard( Like 3 *) hotels and guest Houses.

Meals

During this Kathmandu to Lhasa Motorbike Tour riders can have so many different kinds of food. In Kathmandu, there are plenty of option in food from national to international such as Nepali, Thakali, Indian, Korean, Chinese, continental, Italian, and many more. All the meals during this trip will be safe and hygienic, so travelers do not have to worry about it.

In Lhasa, you can have a variety of Tibetan food, which is very delicious and full of notorious. Try some of the local food to get the original taste of Tibet.

FAQ

Do I need a license to ride in Tibet?

For Tibet motorbike tour, we will offer you a temporary Chinese driver's license. You can drive to Tibet if you have one of these. To get the temporary driving license we need your scan copy of your original international driving license.

Which type of Motorbike will be provided during the tour?

We offer a 411 CC Royal Enfield Himalayan or a 500 CC Royal Enfield classic motorbike, both of which are quite powerful and comfortable for long journeys.

Please let us know which bike is most convenient for you. If you require other brands of motorcycles, we can arrange them if they are available in Nepal or Tibet.

Are the streets safe in Lhasa (Tibet) while riding the motorbike?

In general, Lhasa (Tibet) is a safe place to visit. Almost all Natives (Tibetans) are devout Buddhists who believe that good deeds would benefit them in the afterlife, and crime is quite uncommon in this nation.

Despite its vast landscape, all of China's time zones are calculated from Beijing, which is 8 hours ahead of GMT standard time. Tibetan time is 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, as we now know (GMT).

Bucket List Checked in Style!

My husband and I wanted to do something bold for our anniversary, and this ride across Tibet was the perfect adventure. Raj was so patient with all our visa questions and route concerns.

We had Tashi as our road captain and he was calm, funny, and professional. The ride from Kathmandu to Tibet was surreal. Worth every kilometer. I recommend Himalayan Trekkers to everyone planning a fun adventure.

Epic Roads, Great Crew, Pure Freedom!

Six of us came as a club ride from Auckland, and this was by far the most scenic and spiritually uplifting ride we’ve done.

The roads were challenging, but the Himalayan Trekkers crew ensured we were never alone.

There was a mechanic, a support van, oxygen cylinder, and constant check-ins. Special shoutout to Tashi, our lead rider who handled altitude logistics like a champ.

Raw, Rugged, and Beautiful!

As a solo female biker, I was a bit nervous, but Himalayan Trekker’s team handled every detail and made sure I felt part of the group from day one. The ride across the Tibetan Plateau was spiritually intense monasteries, prayer flags, and endless skies.

Lhakpa was our cultural guide and his stories added a whole new layer to the experience and the rest of the crew were so attentive and professional. If you're a woman craving the open road, do this tour definitely with Himalayan Trekkers team because even if its a group joining tour they fully cater to your needs.

Adventurous Soul Food on Two Wheels!

Riding from Nepal to Tibet with Himalayan Trekkers was a deeply fulfilling journey. The roads were wild, weather unpredictable, and altitudes high, but the support was top-notch. Raj even video-called us pre-departure to explain details. That’s the kind of service that stands out. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Best Ride of My Life

Me and two friends joined this ride and we still talk about it months later. The views were out of this world and so were the challenges but that's what made it special.

Lhakpa, our backup rider and guide, was so attentive and supportive. The bikes were in great condition, and the route planning was flawless. Thank you Himalayan Trekkers for this life-defining adventure.

Motorcycling the Roof of the World!

I always dreamed of motorbiking in the Himalayas and Himalayan Trekkers made it totally possible.

The tour was well-organized with plenty of acclimatization stops. Raj’s communication before the trip was so reassuring I never felt alone. I also would like to thank Sareena for giving me authentic reliable tips for the trip.

Lhasa was the perfect ending. So emotional riding into that ancient city on two wheels. Thank you team and I recommend everyone to choose Himalayan Trekkers for your journey in the Himalayas.

Himalayan Roads and Inner Peace!

From the chaos of Kathmandu to the serenity of Lhasa, this ride was like a spiritual cleanse. The riding was tough in places especially over high passes but we were so well-supported that we never worried.

Lhakpa, our Tibetan guide, made history and spirituality come alive at every monastery. Raj was always available during the entire trip which made us feel secure and I cannot thank the entire team enough for a wonderful adventure. Truly a unique experience, far beyond just biking.

Once in a Lifetime Journey Through the Sky!

Me and my boyfriends are both bikers and this was our dream adventure. Himalayan Trekkers made it happen! The route was well-thought-out, with enough rest days and breathtaking stops.

Raj even arranged a surprise birthday cake for my partner in Shegar—at 4,000+ meters! That personal touch is rare these days. The ride into Lhasa felt like a pilgrimage. Highly, highly recommended. We have already planned to come back for a month long biking trip across Nepal and Tibet Himalayas.

Tough Terrain, Smooth Execution!

Four of us joined the tour and had the time of our lives. The roads were everything you'd expect from a Himalayan ride, dusty, twisty, epic, and the Tibetan landscapes are indescribable.

Tashi was both our ride captain and mountain fixer, handling permits and border crossings like a pro. Hats off to the HT crew for keeping it adventurous and safe.
