Paro Tshechu is the biggest festival in Bhutan and is considered one of the major tourist attractions from all around the world. The festival is celebrated annually since the 17th century in honor of Padmasambhava, the Guru Rinpoche who is believed to be the one to bring Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century.
The festival is held for 5 consecutive days which begins on the 10th day of Bhutan’s second lunar month every spring. The locals believe that attending the festival and witnessing Thongdrol: the painting of the Guru Rinpoche, cleanses the sins. The mask dance during the festival amuses the local viewers as well as the tourists and is truly a sight to behold.
Our Bhutan Paro Tshechu Festival Tour is designed to experience the unique Bhutan culture by attending the festival and visiting the popular, sacred, and historical landmarks in the three well-known cities of Paro, Thimpu, and Punakha.
This 9-day tour package offers some of the country's most beautiful and finest places, monasteries, dzongs, local settlements, and monuments. The trip also includes hiking to the holiest place in Bhutan, Taktsang Monastery, a small settlement of Phojikha, and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal.

Generally, in cities like Paro, Thimpu, and Punakha, we arrange basic three-star facilities. If available, you can opt for a more budget-friendly option or upgrade to a more luxurious hotel by paying a little extra.
Although all the places might not have all the modern facilities, we will make sure to arrange safe and comfortable accommodation. In general, hygienic and safe tea houses/local lodges/ home-stays with all the basic facilities are arranged. But you can, if possible, personalize according to your preference.
Meals
All meals in Bhutan are included within the evident cost. However, if you want to eat your meals other than at your hotel or local restaurant, you will have to pay the additional amount.
In more remote areas, usually, there are not many options. But you can always find hygienic and well-prepared food. We can help you make changes according to your preference and budget, but only if choices are available!
